Thresholds

Student loans payments commence once your income exceeds the repayment threshold. Payments are 9% of your salary that falls above the threshold. The current threshold for Plan 2 loans is £27,295 and £25,000 for Plan 5 loans. Plan 5 loans came into effect for students who started university from September 2023 onwards.
